Wilmot, OH— February 27, 2 024 — Have you ever wanted to participate in environmental research that directly impacts your local ecosystem? This is your chance to interact with researchers, land managers, and community members that are dedicated to improving environmental conditions where they live, work, and play.

Goal: To develop an inclusive research initiative at The Wilderness Center. Visit TheWildernessCenter.org to register.

  • Dr. Brett Seymoure- “Connecting Conservation of Night Skies to the Behavioral Ecology of Animals"
  •  Daniel Volk- “The Wilderness Center: A Hidden Gem in Local Conservation and Research Opportunities”
  •  Dr. Randy Mitchell- “The Search for the Rusty Patched Bumble Bee in Ohio” 
  • Dr. Steven Lyon- “Impacts of a Nutrient Trading Plan on Stream Water Quality in Sugarcreek, Ohio” 
  • Dr. Richard (Dick) Stoffer- “Blight Resistance and Recovery of the American Chestnut” 
  • Kip Brady- “A Tale of Two Forests: What Salamanders, Invertebrates, and Leaf Litter Tell Us About the Ecology of Mined Landscapes”
