Stark County Hunger Task Force Announces Summer Backpack for Kids Program
Stark County Hunger Task Force is once again providing food throughout the summer for Stark County children. Starting June 3rd and running through August 15th Backpacks will be distributed every Monday-Friday from 10am-2pm at the Ken Weber Community Campus at Goodwill at 408 9th SW Canton, OH 44707. Campus will be closed on June 19th and July 4th, Backpacks will not be distributed on these dates.
In addition, Stark County Hunger Task Force will we teaming up with Stark Library and Massillon Library to distribute Backpacks at various branches and bookmobile locations. The schedule is as follows:
- Stark Library June 10th-August 2nd
- Schreiber School-Fridays: 12:30pm-1:30pm
- Main Library-Tuesdays: 9am-8pm
- Madge Youtz Branch-Tuesdays: 4pm-6pm
- Linwood-Wednesdays: 12:30pm-1:30pm
- Creek’s Crossing- Wednesdays: 11:30am-12:30pm
- DeHoff Community Branch-Thursdays: 9am-5pm
- Jackson Sherrick- Mondays: 12:45pm-1:45pm
- Skyline Terrace-Wednesdays: 2pm-3pm
- Ellisdale Homes-Tuesdays: 12:30pm-1:30pm
- Mahoning Manor-Thursdays: 12:30pm-1:30pm
- Massillon Library June 3rd-August 15th
- Main Branch (Massillon) Monday-Thursday: 10am-8pm Fridays and Saturdays: 10am-5pm
- Askren Branch (Navarre) § Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 10am-4pm; Wednesday: 10am-6pm; Saturday: 10am-2pm
- Pam S. Belloni (Navarre) Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 9am-3:30pm; Tuesday, Thursday: 9am-8pm; Saturday: 10am-2pm
Children between the ages of 3-17 are eligible to receive Backpack bags. Bags will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis. The bags will contain 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 2 snacks, and 2 drinks. Please note these are not actual school backpacks.
