Visitor Spending in Stark County grew to $1.37 Billion
Visit Canton Annual Report recaps the economic impact of tourism in Stark County
Stark County, Ohio – Visit Canton, the Stark County Convention & Visitors’ Bureau, releases its 2023 Annual Report underscoring the organization's commitment to promote tourism and drive economic growth in the region. The report includes 2023 data about the impact of tourism on the Stark County economy as reported in the study conducted by Tourism Economics and provided through a partnership with the State of Ohio’s Department of Development Tourism Division. In 2023, Visitor spending totaled $1.37 billion in Stark County and generated $2.2 billion in total impact including indirect and induced effects.
A recap of Visit Canton’s sales and marketing efforts, grantmaking, and industry development programs highlights the organization's work to attract visitor spending and overnight stays in Stark County, up 16% and 7% respectively from 2019 to 2023. The annual report also includes a recap of Visit Canton’s strategic plan completed in 2023, focused on building organizational capacity, advocating for destination-enhancing development, and supporting initiatives to enhance the visitor experience.
