Peach Cobbler Factory opens in Belden Village area There is a new dessert in town. OK, it is more like several desserts, and they can all be found at the newly opened Peach Cobble Factory at 4418 Belden Village St. NW in Canton. The new business has already generated a lot of attention on social media since the owners started to remodel the location. It held a ribbon cutting with the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce on April 4 th and then held a grand opening on April 5 th with long lines of people waiting to try the many dessert offerings. The eatery is owned and operated by Jamie and Larry Middaugh from Columbus, OH, and their daughter and son-in-law, Hillary and Heath Comignahi, who live in Stark County. Dairy Queen in North Canton building in new location The following announcement was on the City of North Canton's Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/search/top?q=city%20of%20north%20canton This just in, North Canton's forecast is calling for BLIZZARDS! Don't worry, Elsa isn't involved in these blizzards, these are blizzards from the Dairy Queen! You may have noticed fencing around the old post office building at 1212 N Main St. The owners of the North Canton Dairy Queen purchased the building in the fall and construction is commencing on their new home. Today the trees and bushes will be removed and demolition of the building will begin tomorrow, January 24th. There will be large trucks entering and leaving the property during this time and lanes closure can be expected. We will post more updates regarding lane closures as they become available. The City of North Canton Fire Department rescues stranded deer The information below was posted on the North Canton Fire Department's Facebook page : This morning Chief Cramer and Firefighter Fox demonstrated bravery and compassion as they rescued a deer in distress. The animal was found in a pond behind homes on Shiloh Run SE., stuck in icy waters, unable to free itself. Thanks to quick thinking and teamwork, the deer was safely freed. The team spent some time drying and warming the deer they lovingly named Shiloh He has since been released back into its natural habitat.
