City of North Canton July 4th Events Update - June 6, 2025
What to Know to Plan Your Independence Day Celebrations
As July 4th approaches, we want to provide an update to our community to help you plan your celebrations for America's birthday! Unfortunately, North Canton will not have a July 4th fireworks display this year, though the daytime traditions of the North Canton YMCA's annual July 4th Race and the Stark Community Jaycees' July 4th Parade will continue.
Although it represents an exciting opportunity for current and future North Canton City Schools students and their families, the construction of the new middle school on 7th Street means that there is no longer a safe, suitable fireworks launch and viewing site in the area. Historically, the fireworks were not ever organized by the City; the event began years ago with the Hoover Company funding and organizing the show, a tradition that was later continued by wonderful community organizations like the Jaycees and, most recently, the North Canton Area Chamber of Commerce with the support of community donations. However, due to the rising cost of fireworks, a lack of sponsors for funding and organizing the event, and logistical challenges, a community fireworks event will not be possible this year.
North Canton will still be celebrating July 4th in our classic red, white, and blue style, thanks to the North Canton YMCA's July 4th Race and the Stark Community Jaycee's July 4th Parade - be sure to keep an eye on their websites at ymcastark.org/july4thrace and starkjaycees.org for all the latest event details! We wish everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday.
