Friends of Stark Parks invites you to A Toast to Wild Night for Wildlife on November 7th, the annual fundraiser to celebrate and support the natural beauty and wildlife of Stark County. Enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres, bid on exciting items in the silent auction, and try your luck in the gift card pull. All proceeds from the event will help fund various projects and programs for Stark Parks, such as wildlife rehabilitation, environmental education, trail maintenance, and more. Don't miss this opportunity to have a wild night out and make a difference for our parks and wildlife. The event takes place at Gervasi Vineyard in the Villa Grande. Earth Day Every Day: Seed Cleaning – November 1st
Stark Parks has been hard at work collecting native seeds, and now we need your help to clean them. Cleaned seeds will be used to help restore native wildlife habitat. No experience is required, and all supplies provided. The program is free, but registration is required. Located at the Exploration Gateway at Sippo Lake Park from 1:00 – 2:00 PM.
Navigating the Night Sky – November 8th
Learn about stars, planets, and constellations with The Wilderness Center's Astronomy Club at Deer Creek Reservoir from 6:30 – 8:00 PM as they navigate the night sky. Practice using telescopes and learn how to navigate the stars during different seasons. A Stark Parks Naturalist will be on site to lead a quick lantern hike under the stars. Registration is required, but if the weather is cloudy the Astronomy Club will not be onsite. Hikes are scheduled every half hour and will occur under cloudy or clear skies. Program is free but registration is required.
Backyard Habitat: Winterizing Your Backyard – November 14th
Preparing your backyard for winter is essential to protect your favorite plants and insects from the harsh conditions ahead. Join a Naturalist from Stark Parks at the Exploration Gateway at Sippo Lake Park from 6:00 - 7:30 PM as they discuss how to prep your backyard for winter. This program is part of the Backyard Habitat Series, for more information visit www.starkparks.com/backyard. The program is free, but registration is required.
Adventure Kids: Owls – November 16th
In this Adventure Kids, we'll explore the wonders of autumn! Through fun activities and a story, we'll learn about fall colors and animal behaviors. We'll create leaf masterpieces and meet an animal ambassador! The program is free, but registration is required. Located at the Exploration Gateway at Sippo Lake Park.

Activities
Richard Fry Trail Challenge – November 2nd
This trail challenge at Fry Family Park is unlike any other footrace in Stark Parks. Choose to endure either a 4-mile or 8-mile challenge while running or walking the unique topography this park has to offer. Check-in will begin at 9:00 AM, at the Visitor Center, and participants may begin the challenge any time between 9:15 AM to 10:15 AM. All participants will be given a course guide to assist them on their journey. This event is open to runners and walkers of all ages, but trails are not conducive to strollers. Registration is required and the fee is $5. When registering, specify the race mileage you are signing up for.
VeteRUN – November 9th
Honor our Veterans by spending the morning at Sippo Lake Park at a free 5k VeteRUN hosted by the local parkrun organization. A morning briefing will start at 7:45 AM, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. The race starts at 8:00 AM. Advanced account setup is required for those who have never participated in parkrun. Visit parkrun.us/sippolake for more information and to register for your barcode that can be used worldwide!
Equestrian Trail Ride – November 16th
Enjoy a glimpse of Stark Parks’ newest addition to our district, Pike Ridge Park from 10:30 AM – 1:30 PM. This guided horse ride will cover about five miles of this 520-acre tranquil countryside, showcasing rolling hills, ponds, and overlook views of open grasslands. The flora, fauna, and terrain will show why this land was selected as part of our county parks’ system. You must bring your own horse and be prepared for uneven terrain and steep hills. Bring your drinking water for you and your horse. You must be 18 years of age to ride or be with an adult. All riders must wear a helmet. Registration is required.
Yoga
The hour-long yoga sessions will leave you feeling relaxed and strong. Certified yoga instructor Kim Kohler will help you challenge yourself while working at your own level in a safe and supportive environment. Modifications are offered to appeal to all skill levels. Pre-registration is required, and you will need to bring a mat. Fees are $8 for in-county and $12 for out-of-county residents. Dates include November 4th, 9th, 13th, 16th, 18th, 23rd, and 25th.
