Canton, Ohio… The McKinley Presidential Library and Museum will be open from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Monday January 20 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

A highlight of the day will be the presentation "Dr. Martin Luther King Jr: On a Journey of Civil Rights Through Ohio," which chronicles the locations within Ohio that Dr. King visited while speaking on behalf of the Civil Rights Movement. The presentation details the honorary degree he received from Oberlin College, and Stark County native James Lawson, the friend and colleague who fought alongside him during the movement. Visitors will also be able to listen to the speech Dr. King made during his time in Canton, Ohio. The presentation will be on a continuous loop in the Everhard Auditorium through the day. 

The Hoover-Price Planetarium will present "Cosmic Kids" at 11:00 and 11:30 AM and "Universe at Large" at 1:00 and 2:00 PM. "Cosmic Kids" is 15 minutes in length and is suitable for kids 3 and up. "Universe at Large" is 30 minutes in length and is geared towards adults and kids 6 and up. Planetarium shows are FREE with paid admission. Tickets are required and are available on a first come, first served basis at the Admissions Window.

Electric Shows will be presented in Discover World 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 2:00 PM.

Visitors can also view the new Keller Gallery exhibition "Winter Wonderland," featuring vintage winter coats, sleds, skates, hot chocolate sets, cold and flu remedies, and other winter-related artiacts from the Museum's permanent collection. The McKinley Presidential Library & Museum is located at 800 McKinley Monument Dr NW in Canton. The Keller Gallery is the Museum’s temporary exhibition space and features a variety of topics each year. The Museum also includes the McKinley National Memorial, McKinley Gallery, Street of Shops, The Stark County Story, Discover World, Ramsayer Research Center, and the Hoover-Price Planetarium. The Museum is open Tuesday – Saturday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Sunday from 12:00 - 4:00 PM.
